What is Lifeline?

Lifeline service is a government benefit program that provides discounts on monthly telephone service for eligible low-income consumers.


Who is Eligible for Lifeline?

Individuals who participate in Government Assistance Programs such as:

  • Food Stamps (a.k.a. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - SNAP)
  • Medicaid
  • Federal Public Housing (Section 8)
  • Veterans Pension or Survivors Pension Benefit
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

Income-Only Qualification

If you are not enrolled in one of the programs listed above but, the income of your entire household is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, you may still qualify.
